HumanHire has partnered with a top mid-sized firm to find a Finance Manager to join their growing team! The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the firm's core financial operations, accounting, and system integrations while serving as a strategic business partner to the COO and firm partners to drive scalability and team performance.

  • Pay: up to $190,000/yr Base plus Bonus
  • Hybrid Schedule: Monday-Friday (9am – 5pm) – 2-3 days remote!

Responsibilities:
  • Financial Operations & Management: Lead monthly/quarterly closing processes, prepare journal entries, perform critical reconciliations (including partner equity accounts), and manage AP/AR transactions and controls.
  • Payroll & Systems: Review semi-monthly and monthly payroll files for absolute accuracy. Maintain retainer, billing, vendor, and user data across all financial systems.
  • Financial Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports, proactively identify/communicate variances, and own the annual budgeting process in partnership with cross-functional leaders.
  • Strategy & Process Optimization: Design and execute changes to procedures, policies, and systems to mitigate risk, interpret complex financial data to provide data-driven recommendations, and enable the firm to scale.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a small internal team of 2 people, including law firm billing professionals.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive corporate finance/accounting experience, including at least 2 years of direct law firm experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep, recent working knowledge of Aderant Expert is required (covering Billing, AP, Disbursements, GL, and Time).
