Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing an individual portfolio through the development and servicing of investment relationships. Promotes the relationship banking concept through deposit accounts and other banking services to prospective and existing customers. Applies advanced knowledge of investment principles and technologies to work performed.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities listed below represent the primary duties of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Sells securities to corporations, banks, individuals, partnerships, foundations or trust customers which meet their needs or purchases securities when customer objectives change or need arises.
Counsels with customers on investment related topics including retirement planning, tax planning, income management, suitability and investment objectives.
Maintains and services current customer accounts by answering questions about the market, appraising the customer’s portfolio, giving investment advice and acting as a liaison with other departments within the Bank.
Performs investment related research on products, the market and the economy.
Develops and maintains a personal marketing plan to identify target markets, prospect new customers and further develop individual portfolio of existing customers. Monitors production activity and ensures individual sales goals are met.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Experience
Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Has a demonstrated ability to sell and negotiate financial products.
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
Required Qualifications
A college degree and a professional certificate or a post graduate degree.
Valid driver’s license.
Has a current Series 7 and 66 (or Series 63 and 65), a current MSRB Series 52 and State of Kansas life insurance licenses.
