The firm is an active investor, playing an advisory role in operations and board governance.Kianalei Capital is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Financial Analyst to join our team in Austin.The ideal candidate will provide oversight to accounting and finance functions across multiple US client companies, bringing structure, rigor, and scalability to financial reporting. This role requires a hands-on professional who thrives in fast-paced, startup environments, can manage competing priorities with minimal direction, and has a strong foundation in both finance and accounting practices.This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of being in the office regularly to collaborate with team members. What You Will Do:Work directly with the Chairman of Kianalei to monitor and improve the performance of the investment portfolioReview monthly financial statements for accuracy and performance to planAudit cash flows and monthly bank reconciliations across the entire portfolioDevelop financial planning and forecasting models to support annual budgetingProvide analysis and insights to leadership to support strategic decision-makingCoach business leaders on operational and financial performance improvementKeep the books and serve as the general manager of a handful of low-transaction-volume businessesManage a monthly cash flow forecast and allocate funds as necessaryDevelop quarterly and annual consolidated financial reports for the investment firmValidate intercompany accounting and ensure consistency of inter-entity balancesCollaborate with external auditors and support annual audit processesCollaborate with external tax accountants to support annual filing requirementsImprove accounting processes, controls, and workflows to support scalabilitySupport financial forecasting, client presentations, and ad-hoc reporting requestsPerform due diligence for the acquisition of both healthy and distressed assetsOperate effectively in a dynamic, startup environment, balancing multiple priorities with minimal directionWork your tail off, learn a ton, have a tremendous amount of fun, and eventually make good moneyYour Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related analytical field2 - 4 years of progressive experience in finance and accountingProficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial statement analysis, and valuation methodsStrong foundation in US GAAP and financial reportingExperience with, or a willingness to learn, accounting in QuickBooksAbility to improve, document, and scale accounting processesHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities independently with little to no directionWillingness to do whatever it takes to get the job doneApplicants must have authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorshipNice to Have:Experience with Sage, M3, or QuickBooks accounting softwarePrevious experience in due diligence for acquisitions or divestituresExperience in professional services, VC, PE, or family office environmentsExperience using AI to automate analysis, reporting, and complianceExperience working in a small company or startup environmentEnd-to-end ownership of processes with a collaborative approachWhy Kianalei Capital?
