DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to serve as a Financial Analyst I within the Management & Finance Division. The Financial Analyst I performs routine technical financial work involving the processing and analysis of financial transactions, preparation of financial reports and work papers, revenue budget support, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial data analysis.
The selected candidate will perform the duties below:

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking and standing. There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. The position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, such as occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of a video display terminal etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No experience is required.
Substitution: Four years of pertinent professional or para-professional experience may substitute for the education requirement. An Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field and two years of pertinent professional or para-professional experience may substitute for the education requirement.
