We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst III to support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and operational finance initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing and/or research and development environment. This position will play a key role in evaluating financial performance, preparing forecasts, and providing strategic recommendations to support business objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, advanced financial systems experience, and the ability to transform complex financial data into actionable insights.
Develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts related to financial planning, analysis, and control activities.
Perform technical analyses to evaluate current and future financial performance.
Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations related to:
Financial plans and budgets
Acquisition activities
Forecasting and future resource requirements
Operating forecasts and business trends
Prepare and maintain financial models, reports, and analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Conduct economic research and studies involving:
Rates of return
Depreciation analyses
Working capital requirements
Investment opportunities and performance
Financial impacts of governmental requirements and regulations
Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
Utilize financial systems and planning tools to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related finance discipline required.
Minimum 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience.
Demonstrated experience with:
Budgeting
Forecasting
Financial planning and analysis
Financial reporting and analysis tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Experience using enterprise financial systems, including:
SAP (Finance Module)
Oracle EPM (Enterprise Performance Management / Financial Planning)
Workday
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Bachelor of Science in Accounting strongly preferred.
5+ years of finance/accounting experience within a manufacturing and/or R&D environment highly desirable.
Experience supporting operational leaders in manufacturing, engineering, or research organizations.
Proven ability to translate financial data into meaningful business recommendations.
Candidates should be local to the Albany, NY area, as there is an expectation to work onsite Monday through Friday during the training period.
Standard work schedule of 40 hours per week.
