LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Senior Financial Analyst, for a contract (possible contract-to-hire) opportunity, working for a manufacturing company, in the Eastend of Richmond, VA.

This role supports cost accounting, financial analysis, reporting, month-end close, ERP processes, and operational finance initiatives. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a small-company environment, wearing multiple hats, and partnering closely with accounting and operations leadership.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, with possible extended hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close

Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing cost accounting, standard cost updates, variance analysis, inventory costing, and pricing processes
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial and operational reports for leadership
  • Assist with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, audit requests, and internal controls
  • Develop and improve reports, KPI dashboards, automation tools, and ERP reporting processes
  • Analyze product costs, margins, profitability, inventory variances, and manufacturing performance trends
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, inventory control, and leadership teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
  • Provide backup support for payroll and assist with expense reporting and accounts payable coordination as needed

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and self-motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This person should be comfortable working independently, identifying process improvements, and partnering cross-functionally to provide meaningful financial insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of financial analysis experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Experience with ERP systems required; JD Edwards experience highly preferred
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial modeling, reporting, dashboards, and data analysis
  • Knowledge of standard cost accounting, inventory processes, financial reporting, internal controls, and full-cycle accounting

Contract Pay: $40-$45/hour contract; Permanent salary range approximately $85K-$95K, depending on experience
