The Role

The Country finance controller is a key member of the Regional Financial Controller team. The role ensures full compliance with external financial reporting requirements and upholds strong financial governance across the country. It provides ocused stewardship of the country balance sheet, including working capital, cash and intercompany activity. Acting as the finance lead for the country, the role is accountable for developing high-performing local finance teams and for delivering accurate external, monthly and quarterly reporting across all entities within the country. The position also plays a critical role in financial forecasting and budgeting that informs Business Unit and Business Group performance. The role maintains accountability for regional internal controls and broader governance.

This position may be based in any Wood office location across USA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the external financial reporting for the country to ensure compliance with
  • Accounting Standards and local Tax regulations.
  • Ensure accuracy and provide governance over the internal financial reporting of the country and associated systems. This includes monthly and year-end reporting, interim reporting, processes and systems, budget and forecasts etc.
  • Responsible for setting, managing and administrating the financial governance model for the Country, incorporating financial control and compliance, financial reporting and Business Systems
  • Support the Country finance team in building robust people capability and providing appropriate succession planning and development opportunities for the function such as mentoring and training.
  • Accountability for, and ownership of, the country input to the annual budget process, including responsibility for consolidation and rigorous challenge of the numbers in advance of reporting to Regional and BU finance leads
  • Ownership of the country input to major forecasting process and regular rolling forecast submissions
