We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Controllers are responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Budget Management: You play a crucial role in developing and managing the company’s budget, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions to ensure financial objectives are met.

• Internal Controls: Establishing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations is a critical duty.

• Team Leadership: Controllers manage the accounting department, providing guidance and support to accounting staff, and ensuring that the team is capable of meeting Elm Terrace Gardens financial needs.

• Strategic Planning: They provide strategic financial leadership, assisting in decision making processes related to investments, mergers, and acquisitions, and evaluating financial performance to recommend improvements.

• Compliance and Audits: Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as overseeing internal and external audits, is a key responsibility.

• Cash Flow Management: Controllers analyze cash flow and project future revenues to ensure the organization maintains adequate liquidity for operations.

Required Experience:

Educational Background:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required, with a CPA designation or a masters’ degree preferred.

• Experience: Significant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a CCRC (continuing care retirement community), managerial experience is essential for this role.

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.

• Leadership Abilities: Effective leadership and communications skills are crucial for managing teams and collaborating with office manager, other departments, families and residents.
