Summary

The incumbent is primarily responsible for serving as the Financial Program Advisor and reports directly to Senior Executive Service, Director and Deputy Director on all aspects of financial management, accounting, administrative and budgetary matters. The incumbent plans, directs, and coordinates all financial management activities for SEPS. This function includes making executive judgment decisions in planning, organizing, and directing the SEPS integrated financial management program.

The duties and responsibilities for a Financial Program Advisor, GS-0501-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs regarding personnel security, information security, physical security, litigation security, and emergency preparedness planning.
  • Reports on financial management, accounting, administrative and budgetary matters.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all financial management activities.
  • Oversee status of funds review to prevent Anti-Deficiency Act violations.
  • Oversees and manages budget operations for the budget plans for the Working Capital and General Appropriation funds.

  • You must be a current permanent Department of Justice employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.

  • This position requires a one-year probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties unless previously completed.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
  • This position requires a valid U.S. drivers license

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Financial Program Advisor, at GS-0501-14, you must meet the specialized experience listed below.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as analyzing, planning and/or coordinating all phases of budgeting needs; identifying budget funding limitations and/or approving or disapproving of budgetary items.

You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by 05/01/2026 of this announcement.
