    Fire Alarm Technician - Service
     
    Position Overview
    We are seeking an experienced Alarm Technician to join our team under Local 494. In this role, you will install, program, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

    Essential Duties
    • Install, program, configure, commission, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems 
    • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and annual NFPA-72 device testing
    • Ensure compliance with NFPA, state, and local codes, maintaining all required documentation
     
    Responsibilities
    • Become an expert with Edwards EST-4 Fire Alarm Systems
    • Complete all company-assigned training
    • Perform service, inspections, testing, and deficiency repairs on fire alarm systems
    • Document service performed and repair recommendations accurately
    • Provide clear instructions to customers on proper system operation
    • Operate company vehicle and equipment safely and in compliance with OSHA and company procedures
    • Participate in the on-call rotation once EST training is complete

    Required Experience & Skills
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience servicing, inspecting, testing, or maintaining fire alarm systems
    • Experience with fire alarm system programming
    • NICET Level I required (Level II preferred)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Strong customer service and communication skills

    Job Type & Schedule
    • Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
    • Overtime opportunities available
    • On-call rotation after EST training
    Requirements
    • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. The ability to drive to job sites / work locations may be a requirement of this position. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check will be conducted as part of the hiring process
    • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check
