The Role:
This Fire Protection Engineer effectively performs, both individually and in teams, to develop, implement, and maintain CWU Campus Fire Life Safety Systems, while also acting as Shop Lead over other life safety system technicians. This position will occasionally assist the Environmental Management Control Systems (EMCS) shop employees in their day-to-day automated control system maintenance, diagnostics, and logistical programming. The incumbent works independently on tasks and monitors progress against defined parameters and campus system standards. The duties, specific tasks or combinations of tasks are to be performed in a professional and efficient manner incorporating both personal integrity and mutual respect.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: This position is based on the range 63 of the Washington State Classification Listing, which has a minimum annual salary of $76,608 and maximum annual salary of $102,996. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm (1 hour lunch) / May vary depending on needs of the department / WFSE Bargaining Unit 1
Working Conditions: This position works independently and makes decisions daily to determine work assignments for themself and other life safety technicians. This is done by understanding and/or anticipating the needs of Facilities Maintenance and leadership team, campus departments and clients served. Projects and specific tasks may be assigned by the supervisor either verbally or in writing. Work is reviewed periodically by the supervisor to ensure department goals are being met.
