In this role you will be responsible for the accurate design and layout of fire protection systems including limited project management tasks and coordination with other building construction trades. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems sharp attention to detail excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to deliver high-quality project documentation on schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret construction documents including drawings specifications project manuals and project schedules.Prepare fire protection shop drawings RFIs material data submittals hydraulic calculations field installation drawings as-built drawings and operations and maintenance manuals in accordance with applicable fire protection codes and standards.Develop material lists for fire protection system components required for installation including pre-fabrication lists.Conduct site surveys of new and existing buildings and fire sprinkler systems to support accurate design.Collaborate closely with the design manager project managers superintendents and foremen to deliver high-quality project documentation efficiently and effectively.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.2 years of fire sprinkler design experience preferred.AutoSPRINK experience preferred.Degree in Computer-Aided Design Construction Management Project Management Engineering Fire Science or a related field preferred.Good interpersonal oral and written communication skills.Strong customer service skills.Moderate math and computer skills.Strong time management organizational and interpersonal skills.Valid drivers license required.NICET Certification Water-based systems layout andor NFPA Certification Water-based system professional preferred.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentOffice environment with moderate noise levels.Regular presence on active construction job sites with moderate to heavy noise and uneven ground may be subject to heights.Ability to maneuver in restricted poorly lit spaces.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.May be required to climb ladders up to 12 feet.Depth perception three-dimensional vision ability to judge distances and spatial relationships required.The salary for this role is45000 to 90000 per year based on experience qualifications and NICET certifications.As part of the DU Family of Companies we believe that empowering and investing in our employees as leaders develops an organization that delivers innovative solutions and services that create a superior customer experience.
