Firearms Compliance & Sales Associate

Have a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of California and federal firearm requirements? We’re looking for a dependable, organized team member to help keep our paperwork accurate and our store running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review firearm transaction paperwork for accuracy and completeness, including ATF Form 4473 and California DOJ/DROS records.
• Understand the identification, residency, and supporting documentation requirements for firearm purchases and transfers.
• Identify missing information or discrepancies and work with management to address them.
• Maintain organized records and handle sensitive customer information with care.
• Stay current on applicable California and federal firearm requirements and store procedures.

Additional Store Duties

• Provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist customers with firearms, ammunition, and accessories.
• Ring up purchases and handle payments accurately.
• Help stock shelves and maintain merchandise displays.
• Take out trash and assist with routine cleaning and general store upkeep.

What We’re Looking For

• Working knowledge of California and federal firearm purchase and transfer requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail—accuracy is essential.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to follow procedures.
• Willingness to ask questions when a requirement or document needs clarification.
• Previous firearms retail or compliance experience preferred.

• High school graduate or GED certificate preferred.
• Prior retail or sales experience preferably the retail industry.
• Shooting sports knowledge a plus.
• Prior retail cashier or cash handling experience is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
