Fitness Instructor

Sterling Grove Golf and Country Club, located in Surprise, AZ, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Fitness Instructor! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guides members through initial and progressive training in the areas of flexibility, aerobic conditioning, and strength training.
• Instructs fitness and aerobic classes each week.
• Teaches proper stretching, strengthening, and aerobic exercise techniques.
• Ensures proper, up-to-date, and safe procedures are used in the instruction of all classes.
• Participates in continuing education seminars and workshops.
• Inspects exercise equipment and fitness areas for cleanliness and safety. Performs light custodial duties, including wiping down equipment and monitoring cleanliness in the pool area, spa, fitness center, and locker rooms.
• Choreographs exercise sequences and aerobic routines for fitness classes. Classes may be held in indoor, controlled exercise settings or indoor/outdoor aquatic environments.
• Monitors classes in progress, providing constructive guidance and assistance.
• Enforces all rules and regulations in a polite and professional manner.
• Represents the community associations fitness center at meetings, seminars, and events with the Fitness Director or in the absence of the Fitness Director.
• Assists the Fitness Director with special events, tournaments, recognition programs, and outdoor sports-related activities.
• Incorporates safe work practices into job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree (AA) in Physical Education or a related field; and six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications:

• Regular and reliable attendance.

• Experience with a wide variety of exercise equipment, instructional techniques, injury prevention, fitness and wellness counseling, and developing and interpreting personalized fitness and wellness programs.
