Fleet & Equipment Mechanic
Valley Tree Care is looking for a seasoned Automotive and Equipment Mechanic to join our team!

Compensation: $20 - $30 / hour depending on qualifications and experience
Requirements:
- Growth oriented, proactive, problem solving, and professional
- Driven and self-motivated, as you will be working alone majority of the time
- Industry experience in fleet maintenance or equipment maintenance is essential
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and regulatory requirements
- Prior mechanic experience
- Prior heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance (plus, not required)
- Strong dedication to safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license AND clean driving record (REQUIRED)
Job Description:
- Work closely with management to ensure vehicle and equipment maintenance goals are met
- Perform maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment including but not limited to: trucks, trailers, wood chippers, stump grinders, chainsaws.
- Coordinate with vendors for vehicle maintenance services and repairs
- Drive company vehicles to and from the yard safely

Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday **with the understanding that working some weekends may be required
Experience:
- 3 years of mechanic experience preferred/required
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Clean Driving Record (Required)

Schmidt, a retired electrician, planted the seed when he began offering the service of applying granular to the trees in his surrounding neighborhoods in 1996. His eldest son, Richard H. Schmidt took over the family business in 1999, and continued to nurture it, providing fertilization services throughout the Valley. His eldest son, Richard H. Schmidt II, stepped into his role in the Valley Tree family in 2015 and took over the family business and tradition. He applied a dedication to the past, and a vision for the future to branch out into the full spectrum plant health care and tree maintenance company that we are today.
