Fleet Technician 2

ESSENTIAL DUTIESThe position includes but is not limited to the following essential job duties responsibilities and requirementsPerform routine maintenance inspections and repairs on fleet vehicles brakes air systems top-end work etc.Performs standard component inspections and repairs.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues.Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic tools when applicable.Conduct brakes engine transmission and other system repairs.Identifies root causes of basic failuresconditions and performs repairs as required.Performs preventative maintenance.Replace defective components as instructed.Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.Conducts road tests to verify repairs and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.Assist in maintaining an inventory of parts and supplies.Performs facility maintenance duties.Interacts with operatorsdrivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task.Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.Works under all federalprovincial and corporate compliance guidelines i.e. safety DOT etc.Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to road service support.EDUCATION ANDOR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or equivalentPost-secondary vocational education is strongly preferred.Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines.Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment effectively.Valid drivers license CDL preferred.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must have a valid drivers license.Valid CDL license A is highly desired.Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
