Position Summary

Set up, operate, clean, and maintain wide-web flexographic printing and converting presses. Produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications while supporting a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. This role offers the opportunity to build technical expertise through hands-on press operation, quality control, troubleshooting, and process improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production and Press Operations

• Operate wide-web, central-impression (CI) drum flexographic presses safely and effectively.

• Follow ISO standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the daily press schedule.

• Review job tickets and production instructions before beginning each job.

• Confirm that all required materials, components, tooling, and supplies are available at the press.

• Plan and complete setups and changeovers efficiently.

• Operate equipment with attention to safety, product quality, and production efficiency.

• Minimize waste of materials, time, and other resources.

• Meet production deadlines and scheduled output requirements.

Quality Control

• Maintain color consistency and registration within specified tolerances.

• Match colors accurately and consistently.

• Verify that finished products meet customer specifications and quality standards.

• Clearly identify and separate acceptable and defective products.

• Neatly stack finished products at the end of each press run.

• Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and on time.

Cleaning and Preventive Maintenance

• Clean the press and surrounding work areas during and after production.

• Remove ink from doctor roll shafts, anilox rolls, the press, and surrounding areas whenever possible.

• Clean anilox rolls thoroughly to help prevent cell plugging.

• Keep base rolls clean between jobs and remove all tape and debris.

• Clean gears as needed.

• Perform preventive maintenance as required.

• Report maintenance concerns and equipment issues promptly.

Communication and Teamwork

• Notify the supervisor of inconsistencies involving finished products, production information, or troubleshooting issues.

• Provide detailed shift handoff information, including job status, production details, and outstanding issues.

• Communicate professionally and maintain a courteous attitude with coworkers, supervisors, and support personnel.

• Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.

• Assist in other areas of the shop as needed.
