Flexographic Press Operator – Narrow Web Printing

Pay: $25–$28/hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Flexographic Press Operator to join a growing printing and manufacturing operation. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in narrow-web flexographic printing who can independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain high-speed printing equipment.

The operation specializes in printing on 20-point paper stock to produce custom coffee sleeves, utilizing both spot-color and process-color printing.

Initially, you will work alongside an experienced production team while an additional press is installed. Once operational, you will be responsible for running the press independently or with the assistance of a catcher.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate narrow-web flexographic printing presses.

• Mount printing plates accurately to ensure proper alignment and registration.

• Load material rolls, anilox rolls, inks, and die-cutting equipment.

• Perform ink viscosity checks and make adjustments as necessary.

• Complete first-piece inspections, ensuring accurate print registration and color matching.

• Monitor print quality throughout production runs, making adjustments as needed.

• Follow job specifications, production instructions, and quality standards.

• Maintain productivity, accuracy, and consistent output in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and improve processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of narrow-web flexographic printing experience REQUIRED.

• Experience setting up and independently operating flexographic printing presses.

• Strong understanding of plate mounting, print registration, and color matching.

• Experience with ink viscosity testing and adjustments.

• Ability to set up anilox rolls, die cutters, and other press components.

• Experience working with spot-color and process-color printing.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and troubleshooting abilities.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to work occasional overtime, including mandatory overtime when production requires it.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating Mark Andy flexographic presses.

• Experience with Mark Andy 4150 presses is highly desirable.

• Experience printing on paperboard or other heavy paper stock.
