Flexographic Press Operator

1st Shift | Hourly + Overtime | No Weekends

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Flexographic Press Operator to join our production team. This individual will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining high-quality printing presses while ensuring production meets customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced in flexible packaging printing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate printing presses for a variety of production runs.
  • Install printing plates, load film, prepare inks, and configure equipment for each job.
  • Verify colors, film, inks, and job specifications before production begins.
  • Monitor press performance throughout production and make adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, film tears, and printing defects to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and maintain equipment in optimal operating condition.
  • Ensure all finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Supervise and assist press helpers during production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate production status and scheduling updates with supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating printing presses.
  • Experience with solvent-based inks for surface and lamination printing.
  • Strong background in high-quality process color printing.
  • Ability to set up presses based on job history and production specifications.
  • Experience using color management tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to stand throughout the shift and perform bending, twisting, kneeling, and lifting as needed.
