Flight Test Mechanic

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Flight Test Mechanic I to support flight test and hangar operations by maintaining and repairing ground support equipment, fleet vehicles, generators, and related operational equipment. This contract to hire role is critical to ensuring operational readiness, safety, and efficiency within a dynamic aerospace environment! This is a fully onsite role based in Salinas.

Responsibilities:

- Report directly to the Airfield Ground Operations Manager to support operational goals and readiness requirements.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment (GSE) and related operational assets.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on equipment, vehicles, and generators.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials to support rapid response and equipment uptime.
- Inspect, maintain, and service company fleet vehicles, including trucks and trailers.
- Support forklift operations and maintenance activities as needed.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with aviation tool control and inventory management standards.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors performing work within hangar facilities.
- Monitor equipment performance and communicate maintenance concerns, deficiencies, or improvement opportunities.
- Support general hangar operations, including material handling, cable management, facility upkeep, and floor maintenance.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience supporting aviation operations, maintenance, repair, or mechanical service environments.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing ground support equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience servicing generators, including identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Experience with service trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of forklift operations and maintenance practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Machining experience.
- Prior experience supporting aerospace, flight test, or aircraft maintenance operations.
