A Step Up Career Academy Center is seeking 2 qualified Floater/Teacher Assistants for our daycare facility. Candidates will be working with the ages of 6 weeks old to 12 years old. Candidates must have at least 1 year of work experience in a daycare center.
****THESE ARE PERMANENT POSITIONS WITH FULL-TIME WORK HOURS**** The available shifts for these positions would be 7:30 am - 4:30 pm and 9:30 am - 6:30 pm.****
Please read the qualifications below:
- Candidate will be floating from classrooms to provide coverage when a teacher is absent or has planned vacation days.
- Candidate will also assist the classrooms that only have 1 teacher.
- Candidate should have experience working with children from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
-Candidate will be fully trained in all 7 classrooms.
- Candidate should have experience nurturing children and excellent communication skills with parents.
-Candidate must be able to interact with different age groups.
-Candidate must be able to change diapers and potty train.
- Candidate must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults.
- Candidate must be able to adapt to change.
- Candidate must be able to meet DCFS requirements.
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
DCFS REQUIRED TRAINING: Mandated Reporter, SIDS, Shaken Baby, Trauma Informed Care, Child Development, Health and Safety Basics & Food Handler.
-Floater Teacher must have at least 33 college credit hours with six credits (2 classes) in early childhood education or child development.

Responsibilities
Assist lead teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Support children’s development through engaging in educational activities and play.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative atmosphere.
Ensure the safety and well-being of children, adhering to SIDS Certification guidelines.
Help implement lesson plans and assist with curriculum development as needed.
Provide care and support for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
