About the Opportunity

Nationally recognized litigation firm known for handling high-stakes and complex litigation matters, is seeking a Floating Legal Assistant to join its Denver office.

This position is ideal for a versatile legal support professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a collaborative environment, and has the flexibility to support multiple attorneys, paralegals, and practice teams. The Floater serves as a key member of the administrative support team, providing coverage during absences, assisting with overflow work, and helping ensure seamless operations across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Legal Support

  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals across multiple practice groups
  • Offer desk coverage during vacations, leaves, and other absences
  • Assist with overflow work and support special projects as needed
  • Collaborate with other members of the firm's floater team to ensure continuous coverage

Document & File Management

  • Draft, edit, proofread, format, and finalize legal and business documents
  • Manage document production, scanning, copying, and distribution
  • Maintain electronic files and document management systems
  • Assist with filing and retrieving court documents from state and federal jurisdictions

Billing & Time Entry

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread attorney time entries
  • Assist with billing-related correspondence and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and budgets when applicable

Calendar & Matter Management

  • Monitor attorney calendars and assist with scheduling meetings and deadlines
  • Coordinate conflict checks, new matter intake, engagement letters, and related documentation
  • Assist with travel arrangements and expense reimbursements as needed

Team Support

  • Serve as a resource to attorneys, paralegals, and staff across the firm
  • Deliver exceptional internal and external client service
  • Participate in holiday and PTO coverage rotations with the floater team

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of legal administrative assistant experience in a law firm setting
  • Civil litigation experience
  • Strong proofreading, organization, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and electronic filing systems
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys or practice groups simultaneously

Work Environment

  • Full-time position based in downtown Denver.
  • 100% onsite for the first 90 days then eligible to move to a hybrid (3 days onsite/2 days from home) schedule.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday with flexible start/end times. 37.5 hours per week. Schedule options include 7:30am-4:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, and 8:30am-5:00pm.
  • Occasional overtime available and paid in accordance with applicable wage laws.
