Floor Care Technician - Housekeeping (Full Time)

Overview:

 

Maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and condition of all floor surfaces and selecting soft furnishings throughout the property. This role requires physical work, attention to detail, and the safe handling of specialized equipment to support highest cleanliness standards. Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.

Responsibilities:

 

• Maintain and care for all floor surfaces, including carpet, tile, stone, wood, and other hard floors
• Perform carpet spotting, shampooing, and extraction
• Extract and deep clean upholstered furniture, including sofas, chairs, and cushions, as required
• Remove, clean, extract, and reinstall curtains and drapery as assigned
• Strip, wax, buff, and polish floors according to established schedules and standards
• Sweep and mop floors in assigned areas
• Safely operate floor care and extraction equipment, including buffers, extractors, auto-scrubbers, and vacuums
• Carry and maneuver equipment up and down stairs as required
• Move and reposition furniture and other items as needed to complete floor care and extraction tasks
• Maintain equipment and supplies; report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Use chemicals and cleaning products according to safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions
• Follow all workplace safety, sanitation, and environmental policies
• Support housekeeping and other departments as operational needs require
• Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with manager and/or on-coming supervisor
• Assist in other areas of Housekeeping as assigned
• Attend designated meetings
• Stock Housekeeping supplies

 

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in floor care and extraction work is required
• Must possess a valid California driver's license
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including carrying equipment on stairs and moving furniture.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling, requirements and use of equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.

• Push, pull, lift, and carry floor care and extraction equipment
• Carry and maneuver equipment up and downstairs
• Move and reposition furniture and other heavy items as needed
• Operate machinery, tools, and cleaning equipment safely
• Maintain balance and coordination while working on wet, uneven, or slippery surfaces
• Work in environments involving dust, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures

Compensation:
Base Pay Start Rate: $25.55/Hr.
