Responsibilities and Duties
· Structural Fabrication and Assembly
o Lay out, fit, and weld structural steel components to fabrication drawings
o Fabricate and assemble steel framing, base structures, wall assemblies, and structural reinforcements
o Perform welding using MIG, TIG, and/or stick processes as required
o Cut, grind, drill, and prepare material using saws, torches, plasma cutters, and hand and power tools
o Verify dimensions, squareness, and fit-up using tapes, squares, levels, and other measuring tools
o Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and fabrication equipment to move and position material
Drawings, Weld Standards, and Quality
o Read and interpret structural blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineering plans
o Ensure welds meet applicable weld standards and drawing requirements
o Inspect own work for dimensional accuracy and weld integrity before turnover
o Verify proper material usage and adherence to specifications
o Maintain clean and organized work areas
o Identify and report discrepancies, rework, or potential design issues
Team Collaboration, Safety, and Work Practices
o Work productively with team leads, project managers, co-workers, and other trades
o Communicate progress, challenges, and material needs clearly
o Support production goals and timelines
o Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving when needed
o Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements
o Properly use PPE, including welding PPE, and tools
o Handle and store steel and structural materials properly
o Maintain awareness of workplace hazards, including hot work, fumes, and overhead loads
o Participate in safety meetings and trainings as required
III. Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
Required Qualifications
i. Minimum of 3 years of structural fabrication, welding, or assembly experience either in production or in schooling.
ii. Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding processes
iii. Ability to read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings
iv. Strong understanding of layout, fitting, and measurement practices
v. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Preferred Qualifications
i. High School Diploma or GED
ii. Technical training in welding, fabrication, or construction
iii. AWS welding certification
iv. Experience in manufacturing or prefabricated environments
v. Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and fabrication equipment
vi. Working knowledge of computers, tablets, and mobile devices
vii. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
· Physical ability to access equipment, rooftops, confined spaces, and shop floor areas
· Ability to work on ladders, scissor lifts, etc.
· Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods
· Ability to work around welding fumes, sparks, heat, and noise
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
