Food Service - Assistant Cook

The Marshfield School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Cook to join our Food Service team. This position plays an important role in supporting the preparation and service of nutritious meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with large-scale food preparation and serving.
• Support daily/weekly cleaning of kitchen equipment, cookware, and serving areas.
• Maintain accurate records of servings, food usage, and spoilage.
• Prepare salads and snacks for school meal programs.
• Follow safe food handling and sanitation practices, including HACCP guidelines.
• Promote healthy eating and a positive school food service image.
• Assist in minimizing food waste and controlling costs in compliance with federal guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Hours:

6:15 am - 1:30 pm (6.75 hours) 30-min. duty-free lunch; Monday - Friday when school is in session.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Range: Starting at $14.87 - $18.19 per hour, depending on experience.
• Schedule: School-year position with daytime hours - no nights, weekends, or holidays!
