The Bistro Associate keeps the front counter and food program running smoothly during their shift. This means greeting and helping guests, ringing up purchases correctly, and preparing bistro menu items so they look and taste the way they're supposed to. Associates also help keep the sales floor, coolers, and prep areas stocked, clean, and up to code. Essential Duties •Greet guests warmly and address questions or complaints with patience and professionalism •Cook and assemble bistro menu items following approved recipes, portions, and presentation guidelines •Check dates and rotate stock so older product sells or gets pulled before newer product •Operate the register accurately, handle cash and card payments, and reconcile the drawer at shift's end •Replenish coolers, freezers, and shelving so displays stay full, priced, and attractively arranged •Log food temperatures and storage conditions and follow all sanitation requirements •Complete required shift records such as safe counts, cigarette counts, and fuel price updates •Help unload and check in vendor deliveries and keep the stockroom organized •Keep the sales floor, restrooms, and exterior grounds clean, tidy, and safe for guests and staffRequired Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) • Willingness to complete Level 1 ServSafe certification after hire (the company covers this cost) • Some background in a fast-paced customer service or retail setting • Open availability, including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduling requires • Solid verbal communication and a calm, professional demeanor under pressure • Comfortable with basic arithmetic and careful about accuracy and detailPreferredQualifications: •Previous work in convenience retail or quick-service dining •Hands-on food prep or food-safety experience This position regularly requires standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout a shift, along with lifting or carrying items up to 50 lbs. Associates should expect exposure to hot and cold surfaces, occasional outdoor conditions (trash removal, deliveries, snow clearing), and general store noise and odors. Ladder use and extended cleaning tasks occur occasionally.
