    Job Description

    The Food Service Manager/Office Assistant performs a variety of food service operations to include food preparation and temping and serving to students and assisting in the front office. They maintain our kitchen facility in a sanitary condition and adhere to health department codes. Also, the Food Service Manager maintains all necessary paperwork required of food service in a public school.

    The office assistant duties include serving as the main receptionist in the front office. This entails welcoming all students, families, staff, partners, and guests as they enter the school; checking guests in/out; answering and directing phone calls to the main office; operating office equipment such as the printer and copier; processing the mail; and other administrative support duties as neeeded.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Serving breakfast and lunch to Pathways High students ensuring satisfaction and anticipating high school students' needs;
    • Filling out and completing production logs related to food service;
    • Prepping breakfast and lunch upon arrival - including but not limited to temping and storing food;
    • Properly storing food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures;
    • Create daily and monthly reports in order to file claims to the Department of Public Instruction for reimbursement;
    • Maintain a safe, sanitary serving environment;
    • Attend and obtain necessary training required of food service in public school setting;
    • Complete all uploading, certifications, and paperwork necessary for a public school food service program;
    • Ordering and maintaining records of food at Pathways High;
    • Support food service audits
    • Office receptionist duties as described above
    • Other office responsibilities as assigned by the Office Manager.

    While performing the responsibilities and duties of this job, the food service manager is required to:

    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds;

    Be willing to be trained and obtain certification in all aspects of food service in a public school setting;

    Have basic working knowledge of technology;

    Demonstrate a positive, assets-based mindset and have excellent customer service skills
