We are seeking a reliable and experienced Food Service Worker/Cook to prepare and serve meals and snacks according to approved menus, recipes, dietary guidelines, and food safety standards. The Cook will maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, manage food inventory, accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions, and support the overall well-being of children during mealtimes.
Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner items according to established menus, recipes, and portion requirements.
Follow USDA meal requirements and dietary guidelines for children.
Maintain proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene practices.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, countertops, appliances, dishes, and food preparation areas.
Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures and maintain required food service records.
Assist with receiving, storing, and tracking food supplies and notify supervisors of low inventory.
Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with monthly reporting and approved menu changes.
Identify and appropriately manage food allergies and dietary restrictions.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, dietary aides, supervisors, and other school staff to ensure timely meal service.
Support children and staff during mealtimes while maintaining a safe and positive dining environment.
Complete required First Aid and Infant CPR training.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous food preparation or cooking experience preferred, particularly in a childcare, school, or institutional food service environment.
Knowledge of basic food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
Basic understanding of child nutrition, USDA meal requirements, food allergies, and dietary restrictions.
Ability to follow recipes, menus, portion guidelines, and health regulations.
Basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, and ratios.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and manage food inventory.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen supplies and equipment.
Willingness to complete First Aid and Infant CPR training as required.
Must demonstrate consistent hygiene and sanitation practices in food preparation areas.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM; Friday, 5:30 AM–2:30 PM.
