    • Plan, assign, supervise, and inspect the work of electricians and apprentices in electrical systems installation and maintenance, and repair work.
    • Prioritize and assign task to be completed accourding to work order, project request, and emergency calls in accordance with any local and state codes and District policy.
    • Maintain accurate records for labor and material costs, work order completion, and other maintenance records.
    • Make periodic inspections of facilities, electrical equipement, and lighting systems.
    • Coordinate the work activities with other crafts and operating units.
    • Ensure safety regulations and safe work practices are observed.
    • Inspect related work performed by sub-contractor and/or vendor products to ensure they are in compliance with specifications.
    • Demonstrate accountability in maintaining accurate records for maintenance functions including status, cost of labor, materials, and supplies for work order close out.
    • Supervise the training of new employees and apprentices. Evaluate, as needed, during the school year.
    • Coordinate work with other Maintenance Services personnel, district employees and outside contractors.
    • Recommend and initiate personnel actions including promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures. Communicate with department director on personnel issues.
    • Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, district staff, and all other auxiliary services personnel in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair and complete each job or project.
    • Adhere to local, state, and federal procedures for inspection, documentation and abatement procedures.
    • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and vehicles assigned to department and communicate with the department director regarding known issues or concerns related to equipment failures, project requests or issues with vehicles.
    • Perform necessary procedures to ensure the accuracy of hours worked, overtime hours worked and benefit time used prior to turning in biweekly time cards to the payroll clerk.
    • Initiate and suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    • Attend bond meetings and walkthroughs of bond funded work at district facilities.
    • Employee will be required to respond to after hour/emergency callouts, be placed on an emergency call out rotation, and flex work hours to accommodate job completions.
    • Comply with District policies and procedures.
    • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
    • All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate

    • Accredited High School Diploma or USA equivalency.
    • Vaild Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Journeyman Electrician License
    • Six (6) years of directly related experience in electrical installation, alteration, and repair work. Two (2) years of supervisory experience in trade or related field.
    • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
    • Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
    • Demonstrated skills in accurate record keeping and computer data base management, including work orders and material procurement.
    • Demostrated technical knowledge of craft area required for the position.
    • Maintain a valid Texas Driver''s License and driving record that meets District standards.
    • Must pass a Dallas ISD random drug test
    • Ability to speak in Spanish is a plus
