YOUR CHALLENGES
Forklift Operators are responsible for receiving, shipping and quality control of various customer products consisting of non-hazardous and hazardous materials, food grade and other commodities. Forklift Operators will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and proficient in operating different types of equipment in a fast-paced environment.
- Load, unload, move, and stage product by operating various equipment such as sit-down forklift, reach truck, and cherry picker.
- Pull and prepare product for shipping, including but not limited to labeling, banding, stretch wrapping, blocking, and bracing.
- Verify shipments for accuracy, and document and report any discrepancies.
- Utilize an RF scanner.
- Follow established company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse and office personnel to meet productivity goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform daily equipment inspections prior to operation.
- Perform other duties beyond driving a forklift, including labeling, banding, stretch wrapping, cleaning drums and totes, and restacking bags and pails.
YOUR TALENTS
The ideal candidate has:
- 2–3 years of forklift experience in a logistics environment.
- A flexible work schedule and the ability to come in early, stay late, and/or work weekends depending on operational needs.
- The ability to work in congested areas and a non-climate-controlled warehouse.
- 2–3 years of experience handling hazardous materials.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs; bend, push, pull, stretch, stoop, squat, and grab; and walk and sit for extended periods.
- A detail-oriented approach and the ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- The ability to read, write, and speak English.
