Title: AI Forward-Deployed Leader
Location: Hybrid onsite
Type: Direct Hire

Why Work Here
This organization is at an exciting inflection point, actively investing in AI-driven transformation that creates real opportunities for professionals who want to lead meaningful change. The culture values innovation alongside deep domain expertise, meaning your ideas will be heard and acted on at the highest levels. You will be embedded within a well-established, stable business unit with strong executive support, not working in isolation or navigating indifference. The team environment fosters collaboration across technical and business functions, giving you broad visibility and genuine cross-functional partnerships. For someone who wants to own an AI agenda from strategy through execution, this role offers an uncommon combination of autonomy, resources, and impact.

About the Role
This is an embedded AI leadership position within a claims business unit, designed for a professional who can operate comfortably at the intersection of business strategy and emerging technology. The role functions as the primary AI advocate and hands-on driver for adoption, working directly with leadership and frontline teams to identify, shape, and deliver AI-enabled improvements. Rather than operating in a centralized center of excellence from a distance, this leader sits within the business and owns day-to-day momentum for the AI agenda. Success in this role requires the ability to build trust quickly, translate complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience, and hold accountability for measurable outcomes. This is a high-visibility position with direct alignment to executive leadership and significant opportunity to shape how AI is embedded into insurance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day AI representative and internal advocate, building trusted relationships with business unit leaders, frontline professionals, and operational staff
  • Identify and document AI use cases in partnership with stakeholders, ensuring proposals are grounded in business relevance and aligned with enterprise strategy
  • Own and manage the business unit's AI initiative portfolio, tracking progress from proposal through adoption and monitoring value realization
  • Drive AI adoption by monitoring utilization metrics, collecting feedback, reinforcing behavioral change, and delivering enablement materials
  • Identify and remove barriers to AI progress, escalating issues with clear context and recommended solutions to senior leadership and the AI center of excellence
  • Lead the business unit's AI Champions community, facilitating knowledge sharing, surfacing use cases, and connecting champions to enterprise resources
  • Translate between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication throughout solution design and deployment
  • Contribute to enterprise AI governance activities, including intake reviews, standards development, and compliance with established policies
  • Challenge the status quo and promote the value of AI-enabled transformation, building momentum and enthusiasm across the organization

Required Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in insurance, technology, product management, business analysis, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in property and casualty insurance with hands-on familiarity with claims or a related business function
  • Demonstrated AI literacy and fluency, including working knowledge of generative AI, prompt engineering, Copilot, Power Platform, or comparable tools
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to engage as a peer with underwriters, claims leaders, or business architects
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into actionable AI initiatives and drive stakeholder alignment
  • Experience in change management or organizational enablement, particularly in environments introducing new workflows or technologies
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent initiatives and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • College degree in Business, IT, Insurance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Bonus / Soft Skills
  • Experience in product ownership, business relationship management, or formal change management roles
  • Background leading communities of practice, enablement networks, or cross-functional working groups
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CPCU, AU, AIC, Microsoft AI, or Copilot
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a bias toward action and continuous improvement
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI capabilities, paired with pragmatic judgment about when and how to apply them
