Forward Deployed Engineer – Azure Databricks and Azure AI Foundry

Job Summary

Acunor is seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work directly with client teams and deliver enterprise Azure data platforms supporting analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI.

The ideal candidate will combine strong Azure Databricks engineering skills with Azure AI Foundry integration experience and client-facing delivery capabilities. This role requires ownership of the complete delivery lifecycle, from business discovery and technical design through development, deployment, and production handoff.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with business and technical stakeholders to understand use cases, data readiness, security requirements, and acceptance criteria.

• Design, develop, and optimize Azure Databricks lakehouse pipelines using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.

• Build ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data.

• Orchestrate data workflows using Azure Data Factory.

• Integrate enterprise data and knowledge repositories with Azure AI Foundry and Azure AI Services.

• Support training datasets, retrieval pipelines, embeddings, and RAG workflows.

• Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists on enterprise AI solutions.

• Demonstrate working solutions to clients, incorporate feedback, and troubleshoot implementation issues.

• Resolve issues involving data ingestion, access controls, retrieval, and deployment.

• Own production readiness, including data quality, monitoring, security, governance, and CI/CD.

• Manage deployment, operational handoff, and end-to-end technical delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 8 10 years of relevant experience in data engineering, Azure platforms, or AI engineering.

• Strong client-facing experience delivering data or AI implementations.

• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Python, SQL, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.

• Experience with ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Database.

• Hands-on experience integrating enterprise data with Azure AI Foundry or supporting Azure AI Services.

• Working knowledge of Azure OpenAI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector retrieval, and prompt engineering.

• Understanding of AI model lifecycle management and monitoring.

• Experience with Azure Storage, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.

• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Understanding of data privacy, AI governance, and Responsible AI.

• Strong technical communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, IT, or a related field.
