Project Description: Seeking an FPGA/Firmware Engineer to join the Torpedo Systems Group, taking ownership of FPGA development supporting mission-critical torpedo systems. This is a full-lifecycle role, from architecture through verification, delivery, and field troubleshooting, with direct customer-facing responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive design, verification, and documentation for FPGA developments from concept to completion
Contribute to system architecture, simulation, and detailed design decisions
Define module interfaces and lead key aspects of device design and simulation
Evaluate the full process flow: high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization
Verify test results and analyze system performance
Present requirements, designs, and results to management, engineering teams, and customers
Help shape and improve FPGA development processes across the organization
Apply engineering standards, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle
Support onsite installation, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for delivered products
Mandatory Skills:
U.S. Citizenship required; must be willing to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 6+ years
Ability to pass a background check (criminal, credit, education, employment, drug test)
Prior experience contributing to new theories/methods in FPGA engineering
Expert knowledge of Software Source Control tools (Git preferred)
Proven hardware troubleshooting experience (DMM, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Function Generators)
Experience working in a Linux environment
Experience writing in C and multithreaded programming
