Degree in a Construction related program is preferred, but not required if experience levels are highMust have 5-year minimum experience in either field or office with heavy experience in wood framing construction, preferably in the multi‑family marketProven ability to estimate lumber and siding take‑offs, creating material lists for pricing, using software tools (Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore)Must have the knowledge to make assumptions when taking off lumber on a DD set of plans using historical dataProven track record as a team player and an effective managerESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSManages multiple priorities simultaneously, shifting between preconstruction and active framing operationsPartners with VP of Support Services, General Superintendent and Director of Framing Operations to maximize profits and mitigate/resolve financial risksProactively identify and minimize risks of short material lists & mistakes on truss plans that cause delaysEnsures complex design conditions are thoroughly planned, coordinated, and executable prior to field installationCollaborates with project team to communicate framing concerns, material applications and constructability considerationsReview construction documents and prepare RFIs to address design gaps, coordination conflicts and constructability issuesManages projects from DD set through completion of framing jobManages framing scope from DD set through completion of framing activitiesSolicits pricing from subcontractors and vendors, develops scope sheets, and scopes bidders to determine best pricing and completeness of scopeDrafts framing subcontracts and purchase orders to awarded subcontractors and supplierOversees the lumber tracking with project teams, assuring that lumber and siding is properly ordered and usedLeads jobsite walks with the project teams to assure that the work is being performed correctlyCreates unit and building markups assuring that framing sub has the correct rough openings, blocking, headers, etc.Prices drawing and scope changes and submits pricing to ContractorAssist project teams with design changes and scope changesManages framing financial projectionsLeads and models safety as a core guiding principleLeads in development, planning, and updating of framing project scheduleLeads precon/kickoffs meetings with framing subs to discuss project & requirementsWorks closely with pre‑con department to ensure framing budgets are accurateWorks closely with VP of Support Services, General Superintendent and Director of Framing Operations to keep priorities in order to ensure proper jobsite managementDemonstrates adherence to EC policy and processes and teaches EC policy and processes to new team membersWorks closely with framing subcontractors and vendors to develop lasting relationshipsThe above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
