Freelance Interpreter

CETRA Language Solutions seeking reliable and professional independent contractor interpreters for active, community-based assignments in and around South Plainfield, New Jersey. Freelance opportunities are available for Bengali, Igbo, Hebrew, Tagalog, and Urdu interpreters.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are fluent in English and at least one of the languages listed above and enjoy supporting diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, in-person interpretation in your language pair for community-based assignments, such as social services or local appointments.

• Facilitate clear communication between clients who speak your language of interpretation and English-speaking providers.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics standards.

• Arrive on time and be prepared for scheduled assignments.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Bengali, Igbo, Hebrew, Tagalog, or Urdu, including spoken communication and comprehension.

• Prior interpretation experience preferred; community, medical, or social-services experience is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally in and around South Plainfield, New Jersey.

• Professional demeanor and dependability.
