About the Role:
Montessori School of Chevy Chase Inc is looking for a passionate and nurturing French Speaking Montessori School Assistant to join our dedicated team in Washington, DC. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire young minds in a bilingual, child-centered learning environment where creativity and independence are celebrated every day.
Major Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Support the lead Montessori teachers
- Communicate with students in French
- Guide and supervise children during recess and transitions
- Prepare and maintain Montessori learning materials and classroom environment
- Observe and document individual student progress and developmental milestones
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff through clear communication
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere
- Take children to the bathroom and change diapers when necessary
Requirements:
- Fluency in both French
- Prior experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting
- Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and teaching methods
- Montessori certification is a plus
- Must have a college degree or a CDA
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all school and DC compliance requirements
- Must be on time every day
