Job Summary:

Seeking for a Front-End Tech Lead to support and lead the development of Staff MIUI screens within IWD. This senior-level role involves setting technical direction, ensuring accessibility compliance, and improving CI/CD processes. The position combines expert-level front-end engineering with formal accessibility certification, offering both hands-on development and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the front-end codebase (Angular, SASS, HTML) with architecture, direction, and coding standards.
• Develop, review, and maintain high-quality front-end code.
• Implement and enforce the U.S. Web Design System and State Design System.
• Own accessibility strategy and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, Title I, and Title II.
• Conduct accessibility validation using automated tools, screen readers, and manual navigation.
• Lead code reviews and mentor front-end developers.
• Enhance front-end CI/CD processes and pipelines.
• Identify architectural gaps and define the technical roadmap.
• Collaborate with Java backend teams to integrate APIs and services.
• Produce technical documentation and process guides.
• Apply secure development practices aligned with government security requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Formal accessibility certification (CPACC, WAS, or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Front-End Tech Lead or senior-level front-end engineer (8+ years).
• Expert knowledge of Angular, SASS, HTML (8+ years).
• Experience implementing a design system; USWDS experience preferred (8+ years).
• Hands-on accessibility testing experience (8+ years).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows (8+ years).
• Ability to work effectively with Java backend teams (8+ years).
• Demonstrated leadership skills and mentoring ability (8+ years).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Section 508 and Title I/Title II compliance.
• Prior work in government or public-sector environments.
• Experience defining engineering standards and leading process improvements.
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale front-end architectures and component libraries.
• Experience writing technical documentation and process guides.
