Job Description

At Roost, hospitality is at the heart of everything we do. As a Front of House Captain, you'll lead by example, ensuring every guest receives exceptional service while supporting the success of your team. You'll oversee daily front-of-house operations, coach Team Members, and help create a welcoming, organized, and efficient restaurant environment.

Working alongside the management team, you'll be responsible for maintaining service standards, supporting Team Members, resolving guest concerns, and ensuring every shift runs smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys leading others, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

    • Lead and support the front-of-house Team Members throughout each shift.
    • Deliver exceptional hospitality by ensuring every guest receives prompt, friendly, and attentive service.
    • Coach, motivate, and develop Team Members while leading by example.
    • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including securing the restaurant and completing required checklists.
    • Oversee cash handling procedures, drawer accountability, and shift reconciliation.
    • Support training and onboarding of new Team Members.
    • Monitor dining room cleanliness, organization, and overall guest experience.
    • Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues with a hospitality-first mindset.
    • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to maintain smooth service.
    • Ensure Team Members follow company policies, food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
    • Support Managers with shift execution, staffing, and daily operational priorities.

Requirements

    • Previous restaurant leadership experience is preferred.
    • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
    • Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
    • Ability to remain organized and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience handling cash and operating a point-of-sale (POS) system.
    • Dependable, professional, and able to lead by example.
    • Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
