FT Research Technician

Position Overview

This research assistant is a grant-funded position to support a recently awarded research grant from the LEAP program of the Burroughs-Wellcome Foundation. This research assistant will work full-time in the organic chemistry laboratory performing organic synthesis and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize new fluorogenic ester substrates
• Prepare starting materials for fluorogenic ester synthesis
• Perform full chemical characterization of all compounds
• Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook
• Update chemical inventory
• Ship final products to collaborators for biological testing
• Maintain a clean laboratory space
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field required
• At least (2) years of previous research experience

• Preferred experience in synthetic organic chemistry, chemical biology, and/or NMR
