Position Title: Fuel Handling Electrical Design Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Fuel Handling Electrical Design Engineer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform the electrical design from requirements definition through final design release for fuel handling systems and equipment.
Develop design deliverables including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, cable schedules, grounding/bonding plans, instrumentation specifications, and interface control documents.
Ensure effective integration of electrical systems with mechanical designs and plant infrastructure.
Apply relevant codes and standards, including IEEE, NFPA, NEC, and nuclear-specific requirements such as IEEE 603, ASME NQA-1, and applicable NRC regulatory guidance.
Support procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities, including vendor coordination and design change management.
Participate in and lead design reviews, hazard analyses, and system readiness reviews.
Support testing and verification activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Job Qualifications:
Education: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience, with nuclear industry experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency in electrical CAD tools and design documentation standards.
Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Experience with safety-related and non-safety-related system design under ASME NQA-1 quality programs.
Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and applicable nuclear codes and standards.
Travel Required: 0-15%.
