Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a global financial services company, for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their technology team on a fully remote basis. This is an opportunity to build and modernize mission-critical applications that power financial products used by clients around the world, working across the entire stack from front-end interfaces to backend services and data layers.
Day to day, you will move fluidly between designing APIs, building responsive user interfaces, and collaborating with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ship features that matter. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, enjoys owning problems end to end, and is comfortable navigating the extra rigor that comes with building software for a regulated financial environment.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain full stack web applications supporting core financial products
Develop responsive front-end interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following engineering best practices
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner
Contribute to architecture decisions and technical design discussions
Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security
Work closely with QA and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployments
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
5plus years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks such as React
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Experience in financial services or another regulated industry is a plus
