    Job Description

    Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Fabricators for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. This position involves working on new and exciting automotive prototypes in a variety of areas. The Full-time Fabricators will cut materials to size and shape and weld metal using hand tools and equipment such as band saws, material brakes, and material shears. The Full-time Fabricators will provide welding support for the garage shop services teams. The Full-time Fabricators will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This Full-time Fabricators position is based out of Allen Park, MI and offers AM and PM shift, plus overtime as needed.
     
    Shift Schedule:
    • AM day shift: 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday, plus overtime as needed)
    • PM night shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (Monday - Friday, plus overtime as needed)
    Responsibilities:
    • Weld instrumentation, exhaust tubes, and bosses
    • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with sanding disk and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
    • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions
    • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
    • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 1+ years of fabrication experience in a professional or shop environment required
    • Basic knowledge and ability to Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) weld
    • Good communication skills and detail oriented
    • Knowledge to safely operate and use the Plasma cutter and Oxy-Fuel torch to cut out material
    • Knowledge to safely operate and use brakes, shears, and bench machines
    • Must have tools and rolling toolbox
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certificate in Welding Technology or related
