Medical Assistant/Receptionist- Full Time Boston Children's Health Physicians (BCHP) is currently seeking two (2) Full Time a Full Time Medical Assistant/Receptionists to join BCHP's Scarsdale Specialty Office in Scarsdale, NY. Pay: - This position will have a pay rate of approx. $21/hr to $24/hr, negotiable based on experience and if candidates have a Medical assistant certification.
Schedule: - The schedule of this position will be Monday-Friday, the hours are to be determined but will be between the hours of 8:00am-6:00pm.

Job Description: This position is a combined role and will consist of both medical assistant and medical receptionist duties. The duties and responsibilities of this position will consist of but are not limited to: - Create a patient-centered environment
- Prepare rooms for the day
- Escort patients to room; prepare patients for examinations
- Record height/weight (head circ if age appropriate) and blood pressure for well visit; chart
- Drawing blood and assisting nurses in the office
- Ask parent or patient about chief complaint and document
- Perform vision and hearing screening as necessary and document in chart according to standing protocols
- Gather proper immunizations at well visits, document in chart, and gain consent from parents
- Perform strep tests and flu test swabs, record results in the chart, and charge for the procedures
- Perform fingerstick lead, phlebotomy, hemoglobin, and cholesterol tests according to standing protocols, document results in chart, and bill for procedure
- Perform venipuncture when requested by providers
- Assist doctors as needed with sick visits, as well as well-child visits
- Clean and restock rooms and equipment
- Relay messages as may be required by physicians
- Prepare for urine culture and analysis
- Answering phones and scheduling patient appointments
- Phreesia should also be checked at the end of the day to prepare for the next day's visits. Incomplete registration and positive screenings should be dealt with at that time.
- Checking the online payment of balances and copayments, and assisting parents in making these payments at the time of the visit if not done prior to the visit
- Assisting new patients in completing the registration forms
- Updating all information in the patient's electronic record, including removing an Alerts that no longer apply
- Assist patients in obtaining access to the Patient Portal for each child in the family
- Manage referrals to specialists and insurance inquiries.
- Make appointments for future visits for patients as they exit.
- When necessary, assist in answering telephone calls, making and changing appointments
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records is essential, and familiarity with the NextGen EMR is a plus
