Schedule: 35-40 hours available. Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM but schedule is flexible!

Starting pay is $46.00/hour

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our agency serving adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Massachusetts. The Physical Therapist will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic strategies at our day programs to promote mobility, physical function, and independence for program participants in accordance with Day Habilitation Service regulations (130 CMR 419.000) and best clinical practices. Some carryover supports in our residences may be necessary to ensure continuation of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each participant’s needs, abilities, and goals.
  • Provide training to individuals and staff, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, mobility interventions, and use of adaptive equipment.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, case managers, and day habilitation staff to coordinate care.
  • Document all services rendered in accordance with Medicaid Day Habilitation standards and maintain accurate, timely clinical records.
  • Train and support day program staff in carrying out physical therapy-related strategies and safety techniques during daily activities, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, mobility interventions, and use of adaptive equipment.
  • Participate in annual assessments and team meetings to review and revise participants’ Individual Service Plans (ISPs), as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements including adherence to HIPAA and program-specific policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices in physical therapy for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
