You will play a key role in patient intake, clinical procedures, and care coordination while demonstrating a proactive, "we can do this" attitude. The position requires flexibility to work weekdays and weekends and to travel to nearby sister clinics as needed.

    What You'll Do

    • Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medical history, medications, and allergies in the electronic medical record (EMR)
    • Perform EKGs according to clinic protocols, ensuring accurate technique, patient comfort, and proper documentation
    • Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens safely and accurately, following established policies and infection control standards
    • Administer injections and immunizations under provider orders, ensuring patient education, safety, and proper documentation
    • Assist providers with in-office procedures (e.g., wound care, minor procedures) by preparing rooms, instruments, and patients
    • Support X-ray and imaging workflows as appropriate to role and training, including patient preparation and coordination with radiology staff
    • Maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment in a clean, organized, and well-stocked condition
    • Follow all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines, including proper use of PPE and sharps handling
    • Provide clear, compassionate communication and education to patients and families regarding procedures, tests, and follow-up instructions
    • Coordinate patient flow to help ensure timely visits and efficient operations in a high-volume urgent care setting
    • Accurately enter and verify patient data, orders, and documentation in the EMR, maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
    • Participate in clinic quality, safety, and process-improvement initiatives as directed
    • Collaborate with providers, nurses, front office staff, and management to promote a positive, team-based work environment
    • Work variable shifts, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, and travel to sister clinics as needed to support coverage

    Qualifications

    • 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting (urgent care or primary care experience preferred)
    • Current, unexpired Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved organization
    • Active Medical Assistant certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent), in good standing
    • Demonstrated competency in EKG performance, venipuncture, injections, and assisting with clinical procedures
    • Ability and willingness to work weekdays, weekends, and variable shifts as required by clinic needs
    • Ability and willingness to travel to sister clinics as needed for coverage
    • Proficiency in basic computer use and comfort working within an electronic medical record (EMR) system
    • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide clear patient education and documentation
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume urgent care environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
    • Demonstrated "willing to learn" mindset and positive, team-oriented, "we can do this" attitude
    • Reliable transportation to support travel between clinic locations as needed
    • Knowledge of standard infection control practices, patient privacy (HIPAA), and clinic safety protocols
