Fund Controller

Fund Controller | Boston, MA | Hybrid, 4 days/week in office

We’re partnering with an established alternative asset management firm, based in Boston, to identify a Fund Controller to join its multi-strategy accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a background in private markets, fund accounting, and operations to take on a high-impact role supporting a diverse portfolio of investment strategies.

Compensation: Base Salary: $145,000-165,000 + Bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee fund operations and ensure NAVs, financial statements, investor reporting, and audits are completed accurately and on time.
• Manage relationships with fund administrators, banks, and auditors, ensuring strong service delivery and operational controls.
• Coordinate valuation processes, review direct investment valuations, and prepare materials for valuation committee meetings.
• Support investment and client relations teams with financial reporting, investor deliverables, and due diligence requests.
• Assist with fund budgets, vendor payments, and investor redemptions.
• Help launch new funds and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in private markets finance and operations, fund accounting, fund administration, or public accounting.
• Experience overseeing third-party fund administrators, supporting fund audits, or managing fund operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of partnership accounting practices and standards.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage large datasets.
• Strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or equivalent preferred but not required.
