Groundskeeper / Landscape & Property Care

REPORTS TO: Owner/Operator, Director of Operations

REQUIREMENTS: Dependable, self-motivated and comfortable working outdoors in all reasonable weather conditions. Experience with landscaping, gardening or property maintenance preferred, but not required.

Purpose

The Groundskeeper owns the exterior appearance and landscaping of Chick-fil-A Maple Valley. The goal is simple: our property should look exceptionally clean, sharp and cared for every day.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, being outdoors and taking pride in seeing the immediate results of their work.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Landscaping & Grounds

• Maintain landscaping, flower beds, shrubs and planted areas.

• Pull weeds and keep beds, sidewalks, curbs and landscaped areas weed-free.

• Prune and trim plants and shrubs as needed.

• Monitor plants for watering needs, damage, disease or replacement.

• Remove leaves, branches, litter and debris throughout the property.

• Keep mulch, rock and landscaped areas clean and properly maintained.

2. Flowers & Property Appearance

• Maintain and care for fresh flowers and plants used throughout the restaurant and dining room.

• Arrange or replace flowers as needed to keep displays fresh and attractive.

• Keep the parking lot, drive-thru, sidewalks, curbs and building exterior exceptionally clean and tidy.

• Pick up litter and address appearance issues before they become noticeable to guests.

3. Exterior Cleaning

• Pressure wash sidewalks, drive-thru areas, curbs and other exterior surfaces as needed.

• Clean exterior and interior-facing windows and glass.

• Remove cobwebs, dirt, stains and buildup from exterior surfaces.

• Maintain outdoor trash areas and help keep the dumpster enclosure clean and orderly.

• Assist with seasonal cleanup and other property maintenance projects.

Standard of Performance

You should be able to walk the property, see what needs attention and take care of it without waiting to be asked.

The right person for this position takes pride in details. Clean windows, healthy plants, fresh flowers, weed-free landscaping and a spotless parking lot all contribute to the guest experience.
