We are seeking an experienced GCP Platform Lead/Architect to own the end-to-end technical strategy, design, and governance of our Google Cloud ecosystem. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams, define cloud-native patterns, and ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
· Support all active use cases by coordinating and managing GCP Cloud Services requests, including IAM, Service Accounts, buckets, DNS, VPCs, subnets, network attachments, firewall rules, APIs, Cloud Composer, Cloud Scheduler, Datastream, Dataform, Dataflow, Power BI to BigQuery connectivity, Vertex AI Workbench/Pipelines, VPC Service Controls, Firewall to On premise
· Work closely with customer Cloud Services teams to facilitate, track, and expedite GCP resource provisioning requests and platform support activities.
· Maintain a strong understanding of the Hub-and-Spoke GCP architecture across Production and Non-Production environments, ensuring each use case is provisioned with the appropriate spoke projects and resources per environment.
· Design and create data access views to support the Enterprise Architecture Hub-and-Spoke model, including Bronze, Silver 1, Silver 2, and Gold data layers for individual use cases.
· Partner with application and data engineering teams to troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve GCP platform, networking, security, and service-related issues impacting use cases.
· Participate in Enterprise Architecture reviews and governance discussions to secure approvals for new or non-standard GCP services before submitting provisioning requests to Cloud Services.
· Act as the primary liaison between use case teams and Cloud Services, and platform engineering teams to ensure timely delivery, compliance, and operational readiness of GCP resources and services.
· Architecture & Roadmap: Own and drive the enterprise GCP architecture strategy, roadmaps, and reference patterns.
· Cloud-Native Design: Architect scalable microservices, containerized workloads (GKE), and serverless applications (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions).
· Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Champion and implement IaC best practices using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
· Security & Governance: Establish least-privilege IAM models, access controls, compliance frameworks, and audit logging across environments.
· Technical Leadership: Lead architecture workshops, review code on critical paths, and mentor engineers and co-workers.
· PoC & Innovation: Evaluate emerging cloud and AI technologies, leading proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives.
Required Qualifications
· Experience: 12+ years in IT with 8+ focused specifically on cloud architecture and Google Cloud Platform.
· Technical Stack: Deep expertise in GCP core services, Networking, IAM, BigQuery, and GKE.
· Automation: Strong practical experience with Terraform and container orchestration.
· Certifications: Active Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification
