General Education Teacher

Location: Washington, DC
Pay Rate: $40–$54/hour based on experience

As a K–12 School-Based General Education Teacher, Your Days Will Include:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports students’ academic growth and achievement.

• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and encouraged to succeed.

• Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning styles, academic levels, and individual student needs.

• Develop lesson plans, classroom activities, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with curriculum expectations.

• Monitor student progress through assessments, classroom performance, and other data to inform instructional decisions.

• Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other school staff to support student success.

• Build strong relationships with students and maintain consistent communication with families regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.

• Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote engagement, responsibility, respect, and a positive learning environment.

• Position: Contract position with option to renew

• Setting: K–12 school-based

• Location: Washington, DC

• Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday

• Pay: $40–$54/hour based on experience

• Schedule: Follows the school calendar

Successful Candidates Possess

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field

• Active or eligible Washington, DC teaching credential appropriate for the assignment

• Previous classroom or school-based teaching experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction

• Effective classroom management and student engagement skills

• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

• Passion for supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally

• New graduates and early-career educators are encouraged to apply

• Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
