Under the supervision of the Plant and General Manager, as a General Laborer, you will perform a variety of tasks to support our operations and contribute to the overall success of our company. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience and grow within our organization.
Role and Responsibilities
· Assist with loading and unloading materials and products from trucks, pallets and storage areas.
· Perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and orderly work environment.
· Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear to prevent accident and injuries as needed.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities and achieve production goals.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the team and the organization.
· Ability and motivation to gain proficiency in other operational areas, including Shred Room/Rolling Cutting, Forklift, Skid Steer and Baler Operator.
Qualifications
· Experience in a general labor role is preferred but not required.
· Knowledge of recycling or waste-handling operations is an asset but not required.
· Ability to work in fast-paced, dusty, and noisy industrial environments.
· Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety procedures.
· Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods.
· Attention to detail.
· Basic mechanical aptitude.
